United Nations Issues 'Thematic Glossary of current terminology related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse'

November 5, 2016 – The United Nations has issued a new glossary of terminology related to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. Prepared by the 'Task Team on the SEA Glossary for the Special Coordinator on improving the United Nations response to sexual exploitation and abuse,' the glossary "aims at compiling existing terminology and nomenclature related to SEA to provide conceptual clarity and a common understanding of key terms used by different United Nations entities in the discourse on this topic."

Notably, the 18-page glossary is a 'living document' that 'has no legal effects' and serves purely as a reference tool on the UN's 'system-wide response to sexual exploitation and abuse'
